General
Follow me is your professional partner for your mountain sports experience. Our service involves organising and coordinating the range of activities on offer, as well as providing you, as a guest or participant, with the best possible information and ensuring your satisfaction.
As well as running our own course programmes, we also arrange tours through self-employed mountain guides. These guides are covered by third-party liability insurance through the Mountain Guides Association, and in some cases will issue an invoice to you directly.
We also supply products from our partner companies. Naturally, their safety guidelines meet our standards. You will be informed of any such partnership before the contract is signed.
Participation requirements
For all tours and courses, you must be in good health and have equipment that complies with CE standards. You must meet the fitness and technical requirements as specified in the course description. Should you fail to meet these requirements, we or the responsible mountain guide may exclude you from the programme. In this case, no refund will be given.
Our services
You can find details of the scope of our services in the descriptions, images and price information for our programme (website, brochures, leaflets, outdoor advertising, etc.).
Double groups or multiple rope teams per tour
We may form a second group or two to three rope teams per tour or course. These are usually led by a trainee mountain guide.
Minimum number of participants
A tour can still go ahead with fewer participants than planned, provided you agree to pay the corresponding surcharge.

Additional costs
Services not included in the price may vary depending on the offer. You’ll find these details in the information on the website and in your booking documents.
Registration
As our dates book up quickly, we ask that you register in good time. You can also make your booking enquiry by telephone. It is best to send us the registration form by email (info@follow-me.at). Alternatively, you can send it by fax or post.
The general terms and conditions come into effect upon your registration.
Once we have received your registration, we will send you written confirmation of your place. This confirmation marks the conclusion of the contract, which is then binding.
Cancellation by you
You may cancel your booking at any time before the start of the course or trip. Please do so in writing, in your own interest. Your cancellation takes effect on the day it is received by Follow Me.
As the course fee is calculated taking into account safety considerations and the number of participants, the following costs will apply in the event of cancellation:
- For course fees exceeding €100, an administration fee of €50 per person will be charged in all cases.
- For course fees under €100, we will retain a 3% cancellation fee.
- 14–10 days before the start: 75 per cent of the tour price
- 9–0 days before the start: 100% of the tour price
If you withdraw from the tour or course, you are not entitled to a refund.
If your place can be resold, only a processing fee of €50 per person per course will be charged (your deposit will be retained).
Cancellation by the organiser
We reserve the right to cancel tours and courses up to 7 days before the start date if there are insufficient participants (for weekend tours, up to 5 days beforehand). In this case, you will receive a full refund of the course price. No further claims will be accepted.
For tours that require particularly good weather conditions (e.g. Mont Blanc), individual cancellation rights may be agreed. These will always be set out in writing. Otherwise, the above conditions apply.
Important note regarding flight, ferry and hotel bookings
Flights and hotel rooms booked separately are individual services for which we act solely as an agent. The cancellation terms of the respective provider apply, and we will pass these on to you without charging a handling fee.
Cancellation fees will also apply if we are unable to contact you in good time, in the event of invalid or incomplete travel documents, in the event of breaches of visa regulations, or in the event of changes to the flight destination or route.
Changes to services and prices
The prices and services quoted are correct at the time of publication. We reserve the right to make changes. Prices include 20% VAT in Austria. No VAT is shown for the EU and Switzerland.
Cancellation of the contract in exceptional circumstances
If a tour or course is made significantly more difficult or impossible due to exceptional circumstances (e.g. war, strikes, civil unrest, epidemics or official orders), both you and Follow me may withdraw from the contract. We are entitled to a proportionate share for services already provided or yet to be provided.
Changes to the programme
The programme will be adapted on site to suit the weather, conditions and your physical fitness. Should a tour need to be altered, rescheduled or cancelled, this shall not give rise to any claims for compensation.
You shall bear any additional costs yourself. Cancellation due to a change to the programme shall be subject to the terms set out under ‘Cancellation by you’.
Liability and compensation
Follow me acts exclusively as an agent in the areas of climbing, ski mountaineering, mountaineering and freeride activities.
The activities are carried out by qualified and appropriately insured mountain and ski guides, hiking guides, canyoning guides and tour leaders.
In the ski school, all staff are employed and appropriately insured.
The assessment of conditions and your abilities is the responsibility of the guides and may lead to changes to the programme without giving rise to any claims.
You are aware that mountain sports involve risks. By registering, you confirm that you are aware of these risks.
Follow me accepts no liability for accidents, loss or other incidents.
You waive the right to make any claims for damages against Follow me.
Insurance cover
By registering, you undertake to ensure that you have adequate insurance cover. We strongly recommend that you take out cancellation insurance.
Costs for mountain rescue, helicopter operations, accidents or loss of luggage can be very high and must be borne by you.
Use of Photographic and Film Material
By agreeing to the Terms and Conditions, you consent to the use of photographs and film footage taken during your participation for our promotional purposes.
If you do not wish to appear in any images, you must notify us in writing within 10 days of the tour.
All photographs published on www.follow-me.at are protected by copyright and may not be used without written permission.
Number of participants
You will find the minimum and maximum number of participants in the relevant programme description. Our group sizes are determined solely on the basis of safety considerations.
Our membership of the Association of Austrian Alpine Schools guarantees the highest safety standards.

Notes
The term ‘participant’ refers to both men and women.
‘Follow me’ refers to all services offered by Gerold Santer’s sole trader business.
