The Follow me Kühtai Ski School operates with a core team, supplemented by additional staff during the peak season.

Depending on demand, we employ between 25 and 60 snow sports instructors each week and, through internal and external training programmes, guarantee the highest standards and multilingual support for your ski lessons.

Our assignments are entrusted to a reliable and professional core team of self-employed mountain guides. We carry out a careful selection process and only assign work to mountain guides who are passionate, empathetic and professional in their dealings with our customers. 

All mountain guides are suitably qualified, authorised and insured.

As a member of the Association of Alpine Schools of Austria and the International Mountain Guides Association, we operate in accordance with the very highest current safety standards.

Our alpine school is certified and has been awarded the highest quality mark in Austria.

The origins of the ski school in 1935

The origins of the Follow me Ski School date back to the Inner Sellraintal Ski School, which was founded in 1935. The first recorded ski lessons took place in Gries im Sellrain, near the old Hoisn Chapel. The first head of the ski school was Max Wegscheider.

Expansion from the Inner Sellraintal to the ‘Follow me’ Ski School in Kühtai in 2004

The Inner Sellraintal Ski School is still in operation and has been run by Josef Pramstaller for many years. Due to the growing popularity of ski touring in the Sellrain Valley and the expansion of the ski area to 2,020 metres, the ski school’s operations shifted entirely to Kühtai. This led, in 2004, to the re-establishment of the ‘Follow me’ Kühtai Ski School under the management of Gerold Santer, as well as to a merger of the two ski schools. Since 2018, Gerold Santer and his team have been solely responsible for running both ski schools.

With the re-establishment of the Follow me Alpine School, we became a year-round provider for the first time. Through the Alpine School, we inspire our guests with mountaineering and ski touring in our home mountains as well as internationally.

Kühti, our mascot, the Kühti Express and many more innovations …

For many years now, our Kühti has been delighting the hearts of children and adults alike in Kühtai. The Kühti Express is also a highlight of our lessons with children. We’re constantly tinkering and improving! A ski school and an alpine school keep pace with the constant changes in tourism and nature. Adaptation and further development are nothing new to us, but rather a valuable mission.

Follow me Travel from 2026

With the establishment of a new travel company (Reisen GmbH), we will be expanding the Alpine School’s offering this year in collaboration with our partner Markus Luschin and launching an international alpine programme.

Furthermore, we will firmly embed the themes of sustainability, climate and environmental awareness into our programme. To this end, there will be a series of events in future at our Bergraum 24 in the mountaineering village of Gries im Sellrain.
